Emmanuella is a Ph.D Candidate in Educational Technology at Laval University, she was the Health, Education and Autonomy Project Manager at CEFRIO Project portfolio : Intervenir à distance par le numérique (Network Schools), the BRILLIANT-Rehab project (Biomedical Research and Informatics Living Laboratory for Innovative Advances of New Technologies), and the Lanva project (living laboratory project to help seniors become independent).

Ms. Michel is an Entrepreneur. She was selected by Facebook Oculus Launchpad program, where she acquired knowledge and skills to develop content for virtual reality. She is also interested in researching the utilization of virtual reality in the context of engagement. She has more than 15 years of experience in the fields of Health, Social Services and Educational intervention, including 10 years as manager of a specialized group home for youth aged 13-25 (with mild intellectual disabilities, mental health difficulties, with severe behavioral challenges and/or within the autism spectrum), with her team of educators and in partnership with the multidisciplinary team of the CROM Rehabilitation Centre of the CIUSSS West Montreal. She has also served on the Quality and Risk Management Committee of the West Montreal Readaptation Centre (WRRC) for several years.
